Let's Get Chinese Food!

Yesterday I faked people into thinking I was wearing boots, but today, I really DID rock out in them. It was rainy this morning, and I really can’t think of a better way to stay warm in the rain than tights and boots.

Don’t you hate it when your pants drag slightly on the ground, and before you know it,  your legs are soaked up to the knees?

Solution. Boots and tights, my friends. Boots and tights.

But you probably already knew that.

See here in California, it don’t pour from the heavens too much.

We learn as we go, folks.

We learn as we go.

Actually I should be honest. I’ve been dealing with rain and puddles since I was a wee child growing up in Connecticut.

But you knew that too.

Or at least could assume.

For those of you regular readers.

I snapped these pictures at the Chinese restaurant next to my office. The front door is wonderfully crooked.

Close on the houndstooth tights I scored at Target (just $5!!!!)

So here’s the deal. I’m wearing:

Boots: BCBGirls from Nordstrom Rack

Tights: Target

Skirt: Target

Sweater: Calvin Klein

Soccer tonight, and then just one more week of work before holiday break! Happy Friday Everybody!

Thanks to this morning’s photographer, Del, and my co-worker Blossom for contributing to the photo selection process. I love my co-workers!

Christmas (LuLu's Edition)

So far I’ve scoped out Modcloth, put together a dream list of splurges as well as a list of miscellaneous finds and did some serious online boot shopping.

Now, I’m bringing you my favorite picks from LuLu’s. Check the site out yourself, or use my picks as your guide…I guarantee you’ll find something that tickles your fancy!

My LuLu’s Top Picks:

1. Outerwear Faves

2. Dress Faves

3. Top Faves

4. Miscellaneous Faves

Target Sockies!

I am in such a great mood today. Maybe it’s the upcoming holiday season, or the fact that I am (finally) nearing 100% again (sick-wise), or some other random reason….who knows. Honestly, I don’t care. My heart feels flooded with happiness, and all I want to do is embrace it and spread the cheer. I have to think this cute little number had a least a hand in part of my happiness:

Don’t you just LOVE these cute socks? I picked them up over the weekend at Target for just $5, and have been dying to wear them ever since! I have to say, Target has a good couple rows of adorable tights, socks and leggings that would be just perfect stocking stuffers for your fashionista friends and loved ones!

I love the white ruffle detail on the back. How much cuter are these than the typical plaid “school-girl” knee socks?

My heels are Isaac Mizrahi (also from Target). From a distance, the sock and shoe combination look like boots. In fact, one of my co-workers was fooled into complimenting me on my boots this morning!

It’s been warmer out, so I slipped out of the blazer for a quick photo. I have to say, I love this outfit with or without the blazer on top! The skirt is Free People, bought second hand at Buffalo Exchange. The top is an old houndstooth holiday dress from Express, which I cut into a tank top. Instead of hemming the bottom, I left it as is (mostly from laziness, but I also love the rough, shredded bottom when paired with a sleek blazer). The blazer is also from Express, by the way.

Here’s a closer look at the skirt-top-blazer combo.

And here’s a few more photos for ya, after the jump!

Happy Thursday Everybody!

Christmas (Boots Edition)

Since we know there’s not way in heck I could ever justify the Frye Carson Riding Boots from my Splurge Christmas Edition, I decided to poke around on Piperlime to see if I couldn’t round up some riding boots that are just as attractive, but with more affordable price points.

1. Michael Antonio Nicolas Boots. $85.

After scouring Piperlime, I have to say, I was only somewhat pleased with the boots I found in my price range. Though I like the look of the above boots, the reviews set me on my heels. Cue Cupcakes and Cashmere. Blogger Emily wrote about cold-weather wear for a trip to NYC, and what do you know? My dream boots materialized before my face.

2. Steve Madden Veronna. $99.95 in Brown Leather.

My main problem with boots (as it’s always been) is that my calves are too thick for most, so ordering online tends to be problematic. I never trust that my legs will actually fit inside the shoe, especially with jeans tucked inside.

But Steve Maddens have always fit me perfectly, so I have a hunch that these puppies would be just right.

I think I’ll stop my hunt right here.

An "Ugg" Kinda Day

Today was just one of those days. None of my clothes seemed to fit the way I wanted them to. I’m still recovering from weekend head cold. The weather outside is frightful. All those conditions combined….and some might even call this something of an “Ugg” Day. I know I certainly did. At least, insofaras I decided to throw on my Ugg slippers to wear to the office.

Click the link for more photos and detail shots.

Here are the outfit details:

Slippers: UGG

Pants: Express? maybe Gap? I should check…

Sweater: Express

Jacket: Thrift store, won as prize

Scarf: Gifted (80% sure from Macy’s)
