Menswear Monday and Mom's Fave. Socks
I woke up with a bit of a scratchy throat this morning, so I decided to hit the workplace in office-casz. Casual, to me, is loose fitting on top and on bottom, as well as flats with socks. This can be a tricky combo to pull off. My favorite way to make it work is with a menswear inspired look.
The shoes are Toms (I’ve been defaulting to them a lot recently). Pants are Express (super super old). The blouse is also Express (newer), and the sweater is from GAP.
It’s hard to tell from the pics, but the pants are pinstriped. I tried to get in close so you could see all the deets. Also I decided that the collar on my button down most DEFINITELY needed to be popped.
Since I was feeling blech-y, I made sure to wear some light make-up. Hopefully this will keep me from looking over-tired throughout the day.
I may be sick-ish, but I’ve still got some spunk. PS check that pop of purple on the socks. These might not match, but they’re my special seasonal socks. When I lived at home, my mom would always buy my sisters and I a pair of seasonal socks for all the big holidays. I was always super excited to spot three pairs of seasonal socks on the counter, and inevitably the siblings and I would always squabble over who got which pair. When I spotted these Halloween socks in the dollar bin at Target a couple weekends ago, I knew I just had to have them (and at $1, who could argue that!??!).
