Friday the 13th

Should I have worn something a little more ominous for Friday the 13th? Maybe. But as long as the sun’s-a-shinin’, why not pay tribute to the spring with a pop of yellow and some sprinkles of white? I love the symbiotic nature of this outfit, how each piece relies on the other to tie the finished product together. Check the red reflecting in the shoes and the belt, and the yellow shirt highlights the yellow from the belt. I had some store credit to burn at Buffalo Exchange, and with a couple free hours in the schedule last night, I decided to sneak over there real quick after work to shop as hard as I could for 45 minutes before the store closed. While there I found the Free People skirt and Guess belt I am wearing below - it was love at first sight - and decided to build today’s outfit around my brand new favorites!

Shoes: Chinese Laundry from Buffalo Exchange

Skirt: Free People from Buffalo Exchange

Belt: Guess from Buffalo Exchange

Shirt: Express

Jacket: Sirens

note: Welcome back you summertime pieces that have been buried but not forgotten these past fews months!!!!

second note: I was wearing way to many layers yesterday to pull off a successful shopping venture. Somehow in 45 minutes I managed to locate and try on upwards of 20 articles of clothing, despite the obstacle of having to shrug out of what seemed like 30 but was really more like 5 layers of clothing (remember yesterday’s outfit? shoes with straps, pants, belt, shirt, vest, vest—-come on! What was I thinking)

final note: Kudos to the staff at Buffalo Exchange in the Valley for being super friendly and helpful, even when I kept them there an extra ten minutes or so while checking out.
